Duties & Responsibilities

The City Administrator is the chief administrative officer of the City and is responsible for the efficient administration of all departments. The Administrator is vested by statute with the authority and duty to enforce City laws and ordinances. The City Administrator is appointed and serves at the direction of the Mayor and Common Council, the City’s corporate authority. The City Administrator appoints and removes department heads, submits the annual budget to the Common Council, and makes recommendations as necessary to the Mayor and Common Council. In addition, the City Administrator serves as the Executive Director of the Glendale Community Development Authority, a city agency which is responsible for the continual economic development of Glendale.
