1. Am I required to appear for a scheduled court date?

If the citation specifically states “YES” in the box to the right of “Appearance Required”, then you must appear for the date and time scheduled.

2. Can I reschedule a court date?

As it is the policy of this Court, I am permitted to grant ONE adjournment without your personal appearance. Please complete the attached form and return it to the Court at your earliest convenience. If receive prior to the alternative sentencing being processed, you will be notified of the new date by mail. Be certain to update the court with your current mailing address as requested.

3. If my citation indicated "Appearance Required" NO, what happens if I do not appear?

If the citation is personally served, the Court may find you guilty by default and will impose the penalty. If you were served by mail, a Summons will be issued Ordering your appearance in Court on another date. A warrant for your personal appearance may also be issued.

5. What happens if I do not pay by the due date and I fail to appear to request an extension of time to pay or an Indigency Hearing?

One or more of the following penalties may be ordered at the Court’s discretion: reinstatement of the original charge, reinstatement /increase of the original forfeiture, suspension of your driving privileges, suspension of your vehicle registration, or a Commitment to Jail.

6. Where do I pay a forfeiture?

• You may pay by mail with a personal check or money order.
• You may pay in person at the North Shore Municipal Court-Glendale with a personal check, money order, or cash.
• You may pay in person at the Glendale Police Department with a personal check, money order, or cash, and by credit or debit card follow this link. (Note: there are fees assessed to you by Point&Pay for using either debit or credit).
• You may pay online, follow this link. (Note: there are fees assessed to you by Point&Pay for using either debit or credit).

NOTE:  You will need both the citation number and total dollar amount you are paying to pay via debit or credit.

9. How can I get more time to pay my forfeiture?

If you have previously been to court, found guilty and need more time to pay, you are required to return to court on the due date indicated on your paperwork to speak with the Judge.  The Judge is the only person in our Court that has the authority to Grant an extension of time.

10. I have received a Restitution Notice, what does this mean and what must I do?

• DEFENDANT: Restitution is the cost of damages or cost of losses incurred by a victim during the incident of the violation. If the Court Orders Restitution during the penalty phase, you are required to pay the Restitution prior to paying your forfeiture or other costs associated with your citation.
• VICTIM: You must provide the Glendale Police Department a written request for restitution along with proof of expenses/invoices/receipts/estimate for the repairs A.S.A.P. after the incident; so the information is available to the City Attorney by the Defendant’s Court Date.

Restitution will be paid to you direct either via the City of Glendale or The Defendant.

NOTE: The Court does not have authority to impose penalties for the defendant’s failure to pay the Restitution due.
